We will discuss the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Act; the rights of eligible families/students and the requirements that must be followed. Ways to recognize if students are homeless and best practices for interaction in the office, classroom and community will be presented. The impact of trauma, poverty and homelessness on learning will be reviewed as well as services and supports that can be provided to build student resiliency.
